School Vision and Mission
At La Primaria Elementary, we are committed to fostering a nurturing and safe environment where every student is encouraged to reach their highest potential—academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe in setting high expectations and providing the support and care necessary for all students to succeed and thrive.
School Profile
La Primaria Elementary is a TK–3 school focused on laying a strong academic foundation to ensure all students are proficient readers and writers by the end of third grade. We believe that reading is a foundational skill necessary for success across all areas of learning, and we provide targeted, small-group instruction to meet the individual needs of our students.
La Primaria is a vibrant school community where learning, character development, and family partnerships come together. Our school employs dedicated staff committed to providing every student with a high-quality educational experience.
At La Primaria, we truly believe that “Success Starts with Showing Up.”
La Primaria Elementary Programs & Practices
-
To support the whole child, we also implement Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) to foster a nurturing, respectful, and inclusive school environment where students feel safe, connected, and ready to learn.
-
We have a strong focus on English Language Development (ELD) to ensure our English Learners receive targeted instruction that supports both language acquisition and access to academic content. Our dedicated staff uses assessment data to guide instruction and create personalized learning opportunities that support growth for all students.
-
La Primaria is a proud Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school. We believe that by praising positive behaviors and teaching the necessary social skills, students will achieve academic and social success.
However, our most important function as a school is building a positive relationship between the school, the community, and the home.
-
We proudly partner with the University of California, Irvine (UCI) to enhance our math curriculum and provide professional development that supports rigorous and engaging instruction.
