Upcoming Events: Red Ribbon Week and California ShakeOut Drill

Posted Date: 10/14/24 (3:17 PM)

We are excited to announce two important events happening soon at our school:

Red Ribbon Week: October 21st - 25th

Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign that promotes a drug-free lifestyle and encourages healthy choices among our students. During this week, we will engage in various activities and discussions focused on the importance of making safe and healthy decisions.
Themed Days for Red Ribbon Week:
  • Monday: Red Day – Wear red from head to toe to show your support for Red Ribbon Week
  • Tuesday: Rock Star Day - Dress as your favorite rock star or wear your rock star t-shirt.
  • Wednesday: Movie Star Day - Wear your movie star sunglasses and cap to block out drugs and negative influences
  • Thursday: Crazy Hair Day -  Come to school with crazy hair to scare away the media and stand up to say No to Drugs!
  • Friday: Superhero Day - Dress as your favorite Superhero and say "Booyah!" to drugs because you are a superhero movie star!

California ShakeOut Drill: October 17th

On October 17th, we will participate in the California ShakeOut drill, which is a statewide earthquake preparedness exercise. This drill helps ensure that our students and staff are ready to respond effectively in the event of an earthquake.
What to Expect:
  • Students will practice the “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” technique during the drill.
  • Teachers will discuss earthquake safety and preparedness with their classes.
We appreciate your support in reinforcing the messages of Red Ribbon Week and earthquake safety at home. Thank you for helping us create a safe and healthy environment for our students!
Best regards,
