Happy New Year, 2026. We look forward to seeing everyone back after Winter Break...See you soon!

See you back this Monday, Jan. 12th!

As Winter Break comes to a close, we hope our students, families and staff have enjoyed a restful and joyous break! We encourage everyone to take a little time this weekend to help make Monday's return a great success. And the reason, is that we know that our students' Success Starts with Showing Up!

We believe each and every one of our students and families Belong in MVSD and we can't wait to continue this amazing school year with you. Let's go!

Reset Sleep & Routines 😴⏰

As we get ready to return to school, start easing back into school-day routines.

Gradually adjusting bedtimes and wake-up times a few days before school starts can help students feel more rested, focused, and ready to learn.

Plan Ahead for Smooth Mornings 🎒📝

A little preparation goes a long way.

Packing backpacks, charging your device, laying out your school uniform, and prepping your water bottle the night before can make mornings calmer and help students start the day feeling confident and prepared.

Also, nothing beats starting the day with a balanced breakfast. Check out what MVSD Nutrition Services is serving next week for breakfast and lunch by clicking on the link below:

Listen & Validate Feelings ❤️👂

Returning to school after a long break can bring big feelings. Take time to listen to your child’s thoughts or worries, validate their emotions, and remind them they’re supported every step of the way.

One way we support our students districtwide is by using Capturing Kids' Hearts (CKH) principles to create connection!

This month, our district is focusing on the character trait of RESPECT. Respect is an important life skill and can help bring joy by helping us understand and care about others' feelings.
